Our Story

My story

Hi, I'm Nikki,

the face behind the camera of Marshmallow Photography.

You might be wondering why we’re called ‘Marshmallow Photography’?

Well, during my first pregnancy my growing bump was affectionately

known as 'Marshmallow' - with the surname 'Marsh' and my love for sweet

things, it really couldn't have been anything else!

I have a lovely hubby, two wonderful little marshmallows and 3 pet chickens (which has made me a bit of a pro when it comes to making a poached egg after lots of practice!)

I originally trained as a nurse and then retrained as a health visitor some years later. This has given me invaluable experience when working with families, babies and little people. I love being outside, walking in the woods with my husband and our little marshmallows, especially when there’s a pub lunch or a stop for tea and cake along the way! I’m amazed every day at how much they grow and change. Losing my dad 5 years ago made me realise that life is short and

that we never know what's around the corner. We need to live and love each day and capture these special moments with our treasured family and loved ones, so that we can reflect not only on the images themselves but also the wonderful emotions from these moments too. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook (links at the bottom of the page) you'll be able to see some of the adventures that my Marshmallows and I get up to!

Whether you’re a family that love adventure, being outside and getting muddy or one that loves the intimate and personal comforts of your own home, I can capture those perfectly imperfect moments and emotions in images that will eternalise your own family story. If you would like to find out more, please use the link below or give me a call – I’d love to hear from you!

Marshmallow Photography

 Ten Random Facts about Me

I love coffee and cake (Maybe that's not so random!)

I am a little bit obsessed with buying books and think it's so important for my little marshmallows to learn and explore the world through books and stories (as well as actually getting out there and doing it)

I love nature, animals and being outside (personal favourite

animals are bears, bees and dogs)

I love Dr. Hook (Thanks to my lovely dad), 'The Millionaire', and 'A Little Bit More', are personal faves and you'll always find me singing along (not well) at the top of my voice!

I would love to enjoy going out for a run but I just don't... must try harder!

I got married at Clandon Park a few months before the terribly sad fire

I love watching The Great British Bake Off (or any cooking show) and always make sure I'm eating

something yummy when it's on

I think being kind is really important and try to make sure that my marshmallows think so too.

I love dancing the night away but you'll mostly find me in bed at 9pm these days (real life)

I enjoy growing veggies at home as do my marshmallows...great way to get them eating their

veggies too! Bonus!
